Rocketmine has become the first drone operator in South Africa to achieve Level 1 BBB-EE status; following a rigorous audit by a SANAS accredited agency.
This incredible endorsement is testament to the company’s commitment to transforming the space where technology and mining meet in South Africa.
In 2017, leading economist Dr Roelof Botha presented research which forecast that the South African drone industry has the potential to contribute more than R2 billion to the country’s economy per year and could create up to 30 830 jobs in the same period.
Rocketmine, a fully licensed Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) drone operator with the biggest fleet in Africa, is proud to be a part of this revolution and to lead development through its innovative and pioneering service offerings in the mining sector.
“The transformation for us has been mostly organic”, explains Rocketmine MD, Chris Clark, “our company is young and dynamic and attracts the best of South Africa’s talent by offering growth, training and new opportunities. It is a marrying of backgrounds, interests and ideas; a true reflection of the potential that our country holds.”
“SMEs are excellent vehicles of change and transformation in South Africa; it is possible to make a long-term impact within your economic space, and we hope to inspire other companies to do the same, I am incredibly proud of our team.”
Rocketmine is also proud to have recently appointed two dynamic directors, Nomthi Mnisi and Ajay Harduth. Ms. Mnisi completed her MBA at GIBS Business School in 2017 and joined the company in 2017 as the Marketing, Communications and Training Manager. She is passionate about people development and strategy. Mr. Harduth has been an intricate force behind Rocketmine’s operational success and management. He recently received his 10-year service award.
“I believe that Rocketmine has transitioned into an exciting phase in the industry where ‘business as usual’ is no longer enough. A young organisation like ours, with an average age of employees under 35 years, has a lot of room to develop new talent and achieve ground-breaking milestones in 2019,” concludes Mr. Clark.
