Wednesday’s newspapers lead with the Supreme Court’s decision to let Texas “arrest border arrivals,” as The New York Times says — though The Dallas Morning News adds the later news that an appellate court put the state’s controversial migrant bill on hold for now. The Boston Globe takes a step back and reports on “anti-migrant venom pouring out in public” in other parts of the U.S. And America is hardly alone: Ireland is having its own anti-immigrant backlash, the Times says.
The Washington Post says that former Trump administration official Peter Navarro went to jail on Tuesday for ignoring a subpoena to testify to Congress. The Morning News says “Texas now leads [the] nation in solar energy.”
The Globe has a front-page column wryly mocking the U.S. obsession with Britain’s House of Windsor: “With Kate still out of sight, we are definitely not amused.”
